Miller Lite Launches Blockchain-based Trivia Game
Miller Lite is looking to make beer and blockchain a winning combination, literally. The popular beer brand from brewer MillerCoors has worked in tandem with Vatom Labs to create a blockchain-based trivia game.
Here’s how it works: contestants join the game called Great Taste Trivia by submitting an email address and affirming they’re at least 21 years old. Players must then answer 12 multiple-choice questions correctly in order to win a $5 prize paid out via PayPal. The campaign runs through September, and a little more than half of the 10,000 prizes are still up for grabs.
The game is a form of promotion called “digital edutainment,” released as the latest installment of Miller Lite’s “Know Your Beer” program. What’s unique about this particular game is how it leverages NFTs (non-fungible tokens) to provide the quiz, social badges, rewards for social media sharing, and to ensure that the $5 prizes are not counterfeited.
Tyler Moebius, Co-founder and CEO of Vatom Labs, said:
“We believe providing brands the ability to create engaging and immersive digital promotions and activation experiences that are backed by the blockchain is the next major upgrade required to usher in the new era of brand innovation.”
The game will appear in social media channels, select apps, and browsers, geo-targeting customers in more than 230,000 U.S. bars and restaurants. Miller Lite can track this engagement, giving the brand more detailed data to use for future campaigns.
We want to hear from you! Have you played Miller Lite’s blockchain-based trivia game? What do you think of the idea?
